My music can now be heard on Taxi – the world’s leading independent A&R company.
The aim is to get more placements in film and TV, especially in the USA. Very competitive!
If any other composers have had success with Taxi, I’d love to hear from you. In the meantime, here’s the link to my Taxi homepage:

A quick message to remind you that THE SPELL is released on DVD this week.
Initially, it will be available in HMV stores and through most online DVD retailers such as Amazon as well as from iTunes. Hopefully, it will also be available later through other high street retail shops and possibly a supermarket chain.
And, if you need to, this is where you can see the trailer on YouTube: THE SPELL Trailer.

Here’s an update on The Spell (Carey Films), but if you would like to see the full version click on this link: www.careyfilms.com/thespell.html and then click on NEWSLETTER.
Anyway, having secured a theatrical release for The Spell, it is now eligible for the BAFTAs and so a full-blooded BAFTA campaign is underway. Exciting stuff!
Also, as a result of The Spell’s nationwide theatrical release, it has secured a UK distribution deal with Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment, a dynamic up and coming UK distributor.
The Spell will now be released on DVD in the UK on Monday 22nd February. Initially, the DVD will be available in HMV stores and from most online retailers such as Amazon and LoveFilm.
The film will also be available for download from iTunes from 22nd February and will then be released on Video on Demand through Virgin Media’s FilmFlex channel in March.
Reviews of the film are coming in thick and fast. Here are a few of the latest:
“Admirably, Carey Jones has avoided creating a ridiculous paranormal plot.” – (The Sun)
“Genuinely scary moments.” (Eye For Film)
“Pitkin displays plenty of torment.” (The Sun)
“Jones has to be congratulated for making a genuine exhibitable feature on comparatively little money.” (Cine7)
“If you like films laced with suspense and psychological horror then you will enjoy this title.” (GoreZone Magazine)
If you’d like to keep up to date with the progress of the film, download the newsletter (link at the top of this post) and you’ll find details of how to get added to the list.
If you haven’t seen the film yet, why not? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts about my score.

The Spell will soon open in 17 cinemas across the country. New to the list are the Showcase cinemas in Derby, Peterborough and Dudley.
The National Press show screening for the film took place today and 17 film critics from the national daily and Sunday papers attended, including one very famous television film critic whose favourite film of all time is, allegedly, The Exorcist!
I hope you get the chance to listen to my soundtrack and the 3 songs specially written for the film.
If you’d like to see the film and make an evening of it, here’s a link to the screening times:

If you do see the film, I’d love to hear what you thought of my music

You Can't Hide From What's Inside You!
This post’s title is the new tagline for Carey Film’s new feature, The Spell.
From Friday 2nd October, The Spell is to be shown at 14 cinemas across the country from Paisley in Scotland to the West End of London and from Sunderland in the North East to Bristol in the South West.
Carey Films will be working flat out to get press and television coverage and will also be distributing around 500 small posters and 30,000 flyers in the cities where the film is to be shown (London, Leeds, Sunderland, Cwmbran, Leicester, Bristol, Coventry, Liverpool, Manchester, Newham, Paisley Reading and Hull).
If anyone wants to help with this, please do let me know – we need all the help we can get as the plan is to distribute these promotional materials in shops, offices, universities, etc. Drop me a line and I’ll pass it on to the film’s producer/director, Owen.
Meanwhile, keep popping back to the site as I’ll be putting up screening times as soon as I have them. Oh, and go and see the film – obviously!
Finally, if you haven’t voted (5 stars please!) for the film’s closing song, Moving On, go and do so now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNXOvHDz_GQ
