Do You Edit Your Compositions?

September 28th, 2008

I’ve just read an interesting article on Rob Paterson’s blog, entitled ‘There Are Two Types Of Composers‘.

This got me thinking about my own work as a composer.  I definitely fall into the ‘write it, forget about it’ category.  Don’t know why, but composing for moving pictures is such a rushed occupation and I always feel pleased to finally finish a composition.

Move on!

Are you a composer?

How much revision do you undertake?

Do you ever revisit your masterpieces and make them better?

Let me know your thoughts and to read Rob’s article, click here: There Are Two Types Of Composers

Are Composers Insane?

September 20th, 2008

So, you want to compose music for a living?

Are you insane?

Well, maybe not, but it is very difficult when you’re working a 9-5 job and looking after the kids, etc.

It is hard, but you’re not alone… here’s an interesting blog post about the difficulties of composing whilst trying to stay alive ;-)

Juggling Composition Time

Hope it strikes a chord (sorry!).
