Empire multiplex chains) following a screening at the Cannes Film Festival. The film will be now be eligible for the BAFTAs in 2010.
The film is based on a true story about a girl who contacted the film's director and producer, Owen Carey Jones (Carey Films Ltd).
Owen was so moved by the girl's story that he decided to write a screenplay about her life.
The trailer for the film can be seen on YouTube.
The Yorkshire Post’s Arts Reporter, Nick Ahad, has just made his first short film, "Where You From?"
This was an enjoyable project and had one of the shortest deadlines
that Alan has ever worked to (a couple of nights!). It goes to show what
can be achieved with an enthusiastic and talented cast
and crew.
Read Nick’s story about making the film here: Action! Trials and tribulations of making my film debut.
Night Fishing was screened at the Leeds Young People's Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival.
It’s a 10 minute short film by Joe Hepworth (Shot in the Dark
Productions) which is dialogue free and gives the music plenty of
limelight!
The story dwells on a young girl's dreams as she tries to escape the drudgery of living in a high-rise tower block.
Working from his project studio in Yorkshire, Alan supplies music scores
for all kinds of moving picture applications via secure internet file transfer.
He has worked for clients across the globe, including Australia and the United
